Europe’s largest international robotics technology competition 'Robotex 2016' in Tallinn
From 2nd to 4th of December 2016 the Europe’s largest international robotics technology competition 'Robotex 2016' took place in Tallinn (Estonia) . PskovSU computer science and electric power engineering faculty students for the first time took part in this great contest.
The competition has been held at Tallinn University of Technology since 2001, and the event usually gathers robotics enthusiasts of all ages and from all over the world. Pskov State University was presented by a team of students of the faculty of computer science and electric power engineering. Sergei Loginov and Sergey Traschenkov were the team coaches. The students participated in the tournament of self-made robots in the "mini-sumo" category. The task was to detect the opponent and push them off the field.
Besides the competition, the participants were shown educational and research laboratories of Energy faculty of Tallinn University of Technology.
Unfortunately, our team could not take prize-winning places, but when getting ready for the competition our students got a lot of practical experience in the development of their own mechatronic devices.
